Modelling and control design of mechatronics systems on state-space
Ertl, Lukáš ; Hadaš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Houška, Pavel (advisor)
This work is concerned with modeling of simple mechatronic’s systems in state space and with designing their controls. In work is described a method for constructing the state model of direct current motor with programs MATLAB/SIMULINK and NI LabVIEW. There is designed the control for realized model and this control is verified in simulation. Later are model and its control, verified on real system.
History of Materials for Production of Cross-country skis
Ptáček, Ondřej ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
The present bachelor thesis is of a retrieval type. The first part deals with the development of cross-country skiing and the development of materials and technologies used in the production of cross-country skis from the mid-20th century to the present. It also explains important concepts in terms of design, shape and types of cross-country skis. Additionally, materials for cross-country ski poles are outlined and their differences are discussed. The second part refers to some of the materials used in the manufacture of cross-country skis, or cross-country ski poles. The emphasis is mainly laid on composite materials and matrices. The matrix in composites is reinforced using fibre or other type of filler.
Was the Polish Operation of the NKVD during the 1930s a genocide?
Kubičina, Štěpán ; Klípa, Ondřej (advisor) ; Vykoukal, Jiří (referee)
This thesis researches the Polish operation of the NKVD, which took place in the Soviet Union during the second half of the 1930'. During this operation mass executions and deportation were committed by the Soviet state against Poles living in the USSR. The aim of this thesis is to determine whether this event constituted a genocide, or not. To get the answer to this research question this thesis focuses on the history and the definition of the word "genocide" a introduces several examples which are widely considered as genocides. Then the thesis describes the events of the Polish operation itself and its chronology as well as the impact it had, and finally the thesis combines these facts with the definitions and answers the research question. The thesis is divided into three main parts. In the first part it researches the emotions the word "genocide" may instigate, the history and codification process of this word in the international law and the relation between genocide and modernity. In the second part the thesis focuses on the historical context of the Polish operation and the "Great Purge" and presents the exact numbers of the dead and persecuted. The third part then uses the selected definition to answer the research question.
Mushrooms and Slag Heaps: Symbolic Processes and Practices of Group Boundaries Defining in Kukolice
Hrčková, Jana ; Grygar, Jakub (advisor) ; Frantová, Veronika (referee)
Presented paper is concerned with the issue of symbolic processes and practices used for creation of group boundaries of Kukolice community. The village inhabitants use various images and narratives in order to enact the boundaries in relation to the neighbouring Polish group. The main objective of the work is to analyze and understand the aforementioned practices. The paper uses theoretical background based on Cohen's Symbolic Construction of Community, Said's Orientalism and Elias's foreword to the Established and the Outsiders to interpret and analyze the empirical data. The research was carried out in a village inhabited by 390 people, located on the border with Poland in Frydlant area. Unstructured interviews, participant observations and analyses of media and official documents were mostly used during the research. Over the course of the analysis, Poles seem to merge with the images of mine and power plant, dirt, poverty and lesser degree of civilization that are all ascribed to the Polish territory behind the border, following Taussig's concept of mimetic faculty.

Foreigners from selected countries in Czech Republic since 1993
Šimková, Helena ; Šimpach, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kozelský, Tomáš (referee)
In my thesis I focused to foreigners in Czech Republic since 1993. The aim was to analyze the development and comparison of the number of foreigners from Vietnam and Poland, to describe what influences the migration to the CR and how it changes the demographic structure. I compared the development of several characteristics in the areas affected by immigration and examined whether changes or trends associated with migration are the same or different for migrants from Poland and vietnam. In the second part I used the statistical data obtained mainly from the ČSÚ, I adjusted it to the tables and graphs. I also used the statistical method of Box-Jenkins metodology to predict status of foreigners for the years 2011 -- 2012.
